Welcome to Achieve with Mélissa, where your recovery is possible.

Back pain will affect about 80% of us, adults, at some stage in our life.

The leading causes are not specific, but research has shown that the primary sources are poor posture, improper movement patterns, lack of physical activity, a sedentary lifestyle, and obesity.

I would like to highlight the “sedentary lifestyle” which has increased since the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020. The growth of working from home has increased the number of hours we stay in static positions that have had, are having, and will still have a considerably unhealthy impact on our posture if we don’t take reversible actions.

“Sitting” has been labelled the “new smoking”; 550 million people are affected by back pain and it is the number one cause of disability in the world.

If neglected, back pain can become chronic over time, but can also be resolved if addressed on time and with conscientious attention.

14 Exercises To Improve Your Back Health

Why did I create Achieve?

  • Pain is an unpleasant signal delivered by the nervous system indicating that something may be wrong.
  • The way we perceive pain varies from one person to another and is influenced by three elements: psychological, biological, and social.
  • The psychological factor being the most influential one, especially when the pain is long-lasting.
  • Chronic pain can reduce your ability to function and have a serious impact on your mental health
  • A holistic approach that takes into consideration the emotional response to your pain will speed up the healing process.
